I have done a few rounds of the Crazy Sexy Diet. The Crazy Sexy Diet, also known as Kris Carr’s 21 day adventure (you can read all my posts about times I have done the diet by clicking here). The cleanse can be modified and adapted to different degrees, but it promotes eliminating processed food, sugar, alcohol, caffeine and animal products and focusing on whole foods; fruits, vegetables, whole grains and legumes. I did the diet for the first time in August 2012. I was in need of an overhaul of my health and habits. Kris Carr motivated me to transition from vegetarian to vegan, give up caffeine and begin a regular meditation practice.I lost weight, my blood pressure returned to normal (it had been high on my last Dr’s visit), my digestion improved, my head felt clearer and my concentration was sharper, my anxiety became much more manageable and I felt a surge in creativity. I truly felt positive impacts on my body, mind and spirit.

The general guideline that I follow are below:

  • Abstain from coffee
  • Abstain from all alcohol
  • Abstain from ALL animal products
  • Eat minimum gluten (only have whole, sprouted grain products)
  • Abstain from sugar
  • Dry brush everyday (cleanse off dead skin cells that contain released toxins)
  • MOVE for at least 30 minutes each day. Even if it’s a 30 minute walk with my dogs.
  • Yoga or meditation each day. Even if it is for only 15 minutes. It helps set up my day with positive intentions.
  • Sleep at least 8 hours every night

This plan has become less of a diet and more of a lifestyle. It has helped me eat much healthier, be more mindful of the ingredients in my food and become more in tune with the connection between my diet, body, mind and soul.

I still get off track sometimes and this plan is helpful in getting me back to what is most important and feeling my best.

The past month I have been lazy about my eating and exercise habits. I have skipped yoga class once or twice to go out for dinner and drinks. I ate out too many times instead of packing my own lunches. My immune system and energy levels suffered. I actually drank coffee a few times, because I was dragging so much. These are all past poor habits that I do not want to re-instate. I am in need of a re-set to get back on track.

I will be starting the Crazy Sexy Diet on January 4th and will fit in the 3 day juice cleanse from Crazy Sexy Juice somewhere in those 21 days.
